Day five and I did the Core Cardio and Balance work out (I’m not following the program strictly, as you can tell) I went for this recovery week work out as I had a tough day yesterday. I hadn’t ridden my horse Lily in about 2 weeks so she was feeling very spritely (read: obnoxious) so after 2 hours of feeling like I was riding a wild mustang, my body’s a bit tender.
Loved this work out, particularly because it worked the hip flexors and because it only had one jump, woohoo. Dare I say it, I might be getting into this Insanity deal, though it will never overtake my love of lifting.
It’s insane to think that just 4 years ago I couldn’t walk far unassisted; I can’t believe how far I’ve come in the past year.
Friday will be weightlifting, Sunday a nice run with Dan – my two favourite work outs in one weekend!
Hope you’re all kicking ass in your work outs so far this week.
After having the weekend off I jumped (literally) right back into it. I wanted to blast my abs so I actually did Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs in succession as you would day 5. Loved Cardio Abs as I like the feeling you get when you work your abs deeply, hated Pure Cardio. I’ve never sweated so much in my life!
How about the Doom work out program?
This is my third Insanity work out this week and oh my god, my calves are screaming at me in forty different languages, not to mention other body parts. Today was tough, really tough, I’ve never worked out so hard before I’ve felt sick so I had to do the cooldown 5 minutes early after walking it off.
No me gusta – my body won’t forget this easily. Also, power jumps are so hard, I can’t jump high at all!
Excuse the phone pics as I couldn’t find my camera. I’ve progressed since my last progress post in June last year but then again that was 8 months ago. Overall I’m happy with the progress I’ve made but would still like to see more ab definition and I’d like to finally get rid of my small love handles this year. If these are the only things I have to complain about I’m a happy girl!
So I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and started the Insanity program. Today was day 2 and although it was manageable, I’ve got to say I really did not enjoy it!
I wanted a program to follow until Dan and I move in together and we have our weights room. Then I’ll be able to get back into lifting properly and have my own program.
I’ll be doing Insanity every other day instead of 6 days a week as intended. This is because I don’t believe in starting a training schedule you have no intention of keeping, plus my NY resolution was to only work out 4 times a week.
Hope everybody’s having a good work out week so far! Will be posting progress pics in a second.
