On people not understanding

I’m tired of having to justify why I work out so hard and eat clean to people. My mum and I just had a blazing row about it and now I’m in a foul mood.

I don’t know why people can’t just respect what I’m doing and leave well alone. She makes choices I’m not happy with but I don’t pipe up and complain because it is none of my fucking business.

  1. Wow, this must of been the theme of the day yesterday. Or was it International Judge People Trying to be Healthy Day? Chin up and don’t worry about what Mum thinks, just focus on why you do what you do. And you are doing wonderfully at it!

  2. I know exactly how you feel. My friends always want me to skip the gym to hang out with them, usually to go out to eat. I’d much rather go to the gym while they eat greasy fast food and then meet up to hang out later but they have a hard time getting that.

  3. It’s definitely a lifestyle that many people don’t understand unless they live it themselves. I’ve been through the same thing – for years, my mom had told me that I need to stop spending so much time in the gym. I’ve had friends not understand why I can’t just skip it, or why it’s such a priority. But truthfully … when I’m working out, it’s the one part of my day that I’m truly happy – that I really feel like me. At my best. Good for you for listening to yourself and your body, rather than what other people want you to or think you should do!

  4. As long as you keep a healthy weight (not overweight and also not underweight), you’re fine. Sadly, our culture is rapidly becoming overweight/obese, and that is what is expected to be the status quo.

  5. I will step back and take the easy stance here…Be authentic, be “you”…You are important and you realize this. Enjoy taking care of yourself! The only person you need to explain your actions to are yourself.
    Anyways…The more we try to explain our actions to others the less time we focus on what matters the most. Wish you the best and keep up all the hard work!!!

  6. Getting on someone’s case for being healthy is the most bizarre thing to me!! people get on my case about how much I run! Just tell them you’ll out-survive them when the zombie apocalypse happens….

  7. I totally understand where you are coming from! My husband is always giving me a hard time about the way I eat. I feel that we are what we eat and it is important to put the most nutritious food into your body as possible.

  8. Yet, these people judging you for doing it the right way are the ones starving themselves or taking the newest shot, pill, etc to lose their extra weight thinking that “thin equals healthy”. There are always gonna be haters. How I look at it, these people are going to put ALL the weight back on (and usually as fat) and you’ll just keep getting better and HEALTHIER! A long as you’re happy, there will always be someone who wants to shatter that bubble because they can’t have what you do.
